Daniel Craig is British theatre’s one of the most famous faces who previously waited tables before the world recognized him as the James Bond.

He was a struggling actor during his teenage years. He was associated with the National Youth Theatre where he played small roles before making it big.

After Pierce Brosnan stepped down as James Bond, people were all eyeing on who will portray the notorious playboy spy in the next James Bond movie.

People were feeling restless until Daniel was roped in for the new James Bond movie as the main lead. He debuted as Bond in Casino Royale and went on to portray the character three more times.

After Spectre (2015), it was stated that Daniel Craig would not play James Bond anymore. But last year, it was confirmed that Daniel will be returning to play Bond for the last time for the series’ 25th installment and Craig’s 5thBond 25.

After this, who will be the new James Bond is not decided yet.  The release date for the new Bond movie is still unclear. Before the new James Bond film, Daniel was portraying supporting characters in both movies and television.

Early Life

Daniel Craig Bond 25 was born in a middle class family to a steelworker father and an art teacher mother. He moved to Liverpool with his mother and sister following his mother and father’s divorce. His mother knew that her son has a thing for acting and hence, she frequented Everyman Theatre and encouraged Craig in pursuing acting. In 1984, James Bond 25 auditioned for National Youth Theatre and was accepted by the drama company. He made his stage debut in the company’s William Shakespeare adaptation of Troilus and Cressida in London.

After 4-year stint at the company, he left and went to pursue higher goals. In 1988, Bond 25 Daniel Craig applied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was selected. He graduated in 1991 and was offered a supporting role in the 1992 film The Power of One.

Daniel Craig Acting Career

Before making it big in the film industry, Daniel Craig struggled to get roles. The only roles he got was of the supporting characters which he knew was not enough. He went on to play an array of supporting characters including some guest parts in television series. In 1996, he gained a little recognition as the troubled man in Our Friends in the North, a relationship drama miniseries.

He played a negative character in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider alongside Angelina Jolie. But it was in 2006, when he got a call from MGM to discuss an offer. He was cast in as the James Bond in the next Bond movie – Casino Royale. He then went on to act in number of films as the leading man such as The Golden Compass (2007), next James Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008), Cowboys and Aliens (2011), next Bond film Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

He has won many accolades and awards for his portrayal of James Bond.

He is married to actress Rachel Weisz. Previously, he was married to Fiona Loudon for two years.
