Rose McGowan who is seen as one of the most outspoken pioneers of the movement against sexual harassment has slammed Meryl Streep for being part of the the silent protest and not bringing about a real change.
McGowan voiced her protest against the method adopted by several actresses who wore black to the 2018 Golden Globes next month as a symbol of protest against harassment in Hollywood.
McGowan took to Twitter to slam all the “silent protesters”. She particularly called out Meryl Streep for working with Harvey Weinstein.
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” Rose wrote, referring to Weinstein’s ex-wife’s fashion line.
