Stan Lee

Stan Lee is one of the most renowned American comic-book writers, editor, publisher and executive film producer. He was the former editor-in-chief of the Marvel comics and later became its publisher and chairperson as well as designated as the member of its editorial board. He, along with several artists such as Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby has co- created the famous Stan Lee comics fictional characters such as Spider-man, Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Fantastic 4, Black Panther and the X-Men. He was also the additional co-writer of Ant-Man, Iron Man and Thor, which he has co-written with Larry Lieber.

In 1994, he was introduced to the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame followed by the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995. Lee also received the National Medal of Arts in 2008.

His childhood years

Stan Lee, original name Stanley Martin Lieber, was born the 28th of December 1922. He belonged to a Romanian-born Jewish family. His father was a trained dress cutter and worked irregularly after the Great Depression. Lee, along with his family, which included a younger brother and their parents, lived in an apartment at the 1720 University Avenue. He and his younger brother shared the bedroom while their parents slept on a foldout couch.

In his youth days, Lee enjoyed writing. He worked for a news service and wrote press release for the National Tuberculosis Centre. Lee has worked in many firms in his youth days such as sandwich delivery boy for the Jack May pharmacy and as an office boy for a trouser manufacturing company.

Career as a comic writer

Lee started working as an assistant at the Timely Comics in 1939. Later, Timely was rebranded as Marvel comics from where the era of Marvel Stan Lee started. Stan lee first comic debut was with Captain America. Stan lee first comic book was a hit right after its release. Later on, Lee became a significant face for Marvel Comics, delivered lectures at college, and participated in panel discussions.
